Born and raised in the Kootenays, Tristan decided to follow in his parents’ footsteps after high school and became a second-generation tree planter. For over a decade, he worked as an industrial athlete, traveling, surfing, or skiing in his off-season. During this time, he relied on regular massage therapy to keep him balanced and high-functioning in his work. In 2019, he decided to switch career paths and become an RMT, graduating from the West Coast College of Massage in Victoria. After becoming a father, Tristan has made the move back to his hometown to be closer to his family. He is excited to bring his practice to such an active and growing community.
My focus is simple: creating more space in your body to support more movement and flow. On the physical level, I use a combination of deep tissue and general Swedish, myofascial, active, and long-hold release techniques in conjunction with guided therapeutic breathing and somatic (body) awareness to address muscle tension, fascial restrictions, postural/movement patterns, pain, and stress.
I view the body as an interconnected whole, assessing movement and restriction in relation to the multiple fascial lines (connective tissue framework) that traverse our bodies and work to bring them back into balance through hands-on treatment, mobility exercises, and education. I strive to find the balance between therapeutic depth and relaxation, respecting the need to treat and calm the nervous system and its relationship to tension and guarding throughout the body.
Having planted over 2 million trees as an industrial athlete throughout my twenties, I have a particular passion for working with people whose jobs and hobbies place repetitive demands or stress on their bodies. Whether you are a tradesperson, office worker, nurse, or anyone who is dealing with repetitive strains or persistent restrictions and related pain, my goal is to help you create space, comfort, and greater ease in all movements and activities.
Motion is lotion; let me guide you back to your flow.
